WHAT HASHGACHA ARE YOU UNDER?

ARE YOU OPEN ON SATURDAY NIGHT?

During the Summer months when Shabbos ends as late as it does we are not open. During the winter months when Shabbos ends a bit earlier we do try to open Sat. night. Please call us for details.

DO YOU HAVE MSG IN YOUR FOOD AND CAN IT BE PREPARED WITHOUT IT?

We have MSG in some of our food. As a rule of thumb most of our Thai dishes can be prepared without MSG whereas our Chinese dishes have some MSG pre-made in the sauces. Our Sushi has no MSG and we of course will not add any MSG to any dish based on request.

ARE YOUR SOUPS VEGETARIAN?

Most of our soups are chicken broth based. We can make our tofu vegetable soup and our tom yum pak soup with a water base if requested upon ordering.

CAN YOU DELIVER FOR UNDER THE MINIMUM?

In order to best serve all of our customers on an equal basis we cannot make exceptions to deliver for under our set minimums regardless of the location of the customer.

CAN YOU RUSH A SPECIFIC ORDER?

In order to be fair to all of our customers, orders are made in the order in which we receive them. We will always try to give a fair estimate of the time it will take to receive an order, although this of course is not an exact science.

ARE ALL YOUR DISHES MADE FRESH?

All of our dishes are made to order, with the exception of some of our soups which are made at the beginning of the day and then throughout the day as needed.

IS YOUR SUSHI PARVE?

According to Rabbi Avroham Marmostein being that our Sushi is prepared at the sushi bar away from the kitchen makes the sushi parve.

What are the accepted methods of payment at Gan Asia?

At Gan Asia we gladly accept all major credit cards, debit cards, money orders and cash. We do not accept checks as a regular form of payment, in certain circumstances if pre-approved a check will also be an acceptable form of payment. Unfortunately at Gan Asia we are not able to extend credit to customers and all orders must be paid for at the time of placement/delivery.

Can I put the tip for the delivery person on my credit card?

At Gan Asia we do not accept tips for deliveries on the credit card. In cases where the customer has no cash available (please be assured that our delivery persons are all required to carry a reasonable amount of change with them so larger bills are not a problem), we can put the tip on the credit card for a $1.00 surcharge.

Can I make specific changes off the menu to customize my order to my likes?

At Gan Asia, we are always striving to best serve our customers. In that vain we do allow for many reasonable changes off the menu. We ask that customers understand that when ordering individualized dishes there is a certain potential for mix ups in the descriptions due to the language and cultural barriers that exist amongst our multi lingual and cultural staff. We will try to best guide our customers as to what we can accommodate and what we cannot when it comes to making specific requests that individualize dishes off our menu.

In certain cases we cannot make the accommodations, at which time we will always inform the customer when ordering that said order cannot be made and we will try to advise on an appropriate replacement dish/es.

What if I’m not home when the delivery person arrives?

In cases where the customer is not available to receive their order we will look to leave the order with a doorman, if it has been paid for on credit card. If a tip for the delivery person has not been included in the order we will assume a 10% gratuity for such instances and make certain the delivery person has been taken care of upon return to the restaurant. In cases where the order is a cash order and the customer cannot be reached or in a case where there is no doorman to leave the order with, we will ask the delivery person to wait for up to 5 minutes for the customer to return. In cases where we are left with no other options we will bring the food back to the restaurant where it will be available to be picked up by the customer for a $5.00 surcharge for the delivery person, if the order needs to be redelivered there will be a $10.00 surcharge for re-delivery of the order

Can the delivery person call me when he is downstairs?

In some instances if our delivery person has a cellular phone and is willing to make such a phone call it is not a problem. Please note we do not enforce or encourage any of our employees to carry cell phones. In a case where the person either does not have a cell phone or does not feel comfortable making such a call, we will call you prior to the delivery leaving the restaurant, and ask you to meet him/her at the front of your location at the estimated time that the delivery should arrive.

What if I place an order then call back to cancel or change it?

If you call back prior to the order being made it is no problem at all. If the order has been made but not yet sent out, we will charge for dishes (other than specific dishes that can be restocked) 50% of the cost of the dish. If the order has already been sent out for delivery than we will charge the full cost of the order – minus any drinks that can be restocked if they are returned.

How long will you hold food for orders placed to be picked up?

We will leave food orders on our counter for up to 1 hour, afterwards we will refrigerate the order in order to avoid spoilage. If at end of day food is not picked up we will give the food away to avoid waste, and a full charge on the food will be applied to the customer.

What is the difference between a tip and a delivery charge?

A tip is a gratuity given directly to the person delivering your meal, and has no bearing on the restaurant. A delivery charge is a charge by the restaurant that helps to cover some of the costs incurred in getting to you your meal, and that does not go to the delivery person it is a separate charge
